Bitcoin Cash: A Reflection on How Far We’ve Come

On August 1, Bitcoin resumed its original roadmap, scaling on-chain towards global adoption as Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash.
It’s been just 3 and a half months since Bitcoin Cash broke away from BTC in order avoid a software mutation called Segwit, and to restore progress and growth to the ecosystem.
After a recent price rally that saw us reach 0.5 BTC ($3000), the reality is setting in that an overnight ‘flippening’ scenario that some people hoped for is unlikely, and that we have a longer road ahead.
It’s really important to remember how much has been achieved in such a short time.
Let’s take a moment to reflect on how far we’ve come as a young community.
July:
August:
September:
October:
November:
This rate and scale of industry adoption is unprecedented.
With every BTC holder receiving an equal amount of Bitcoin Cash, and with the price over $1300, the rate and scale of user adoption is unprecedented.
With fast, reliable transactions and fees that are less than 1 cent, and with both BitPay & Coinbase hinting at a full Bitcoin Cash integration, the rate and scale of merchant adoption will be unprecedented.
With unprecedented industry, user and merchant adoption, it’s only a matter of time until Bitcoin Cash becomes the default medium of exchange and store of value cryptocurrency.
The old Bitcoin is back. You can feel it. It’s the resurgence of a grassroots movement not seen for years. People are putting Bitcoin Cash posters in the streets, handing out leaflets, tipping strangers a few dollars online, and asking in forums how they can contribute to the community.
Just in the last couple of days a ‘Bitcoin Cash Fund’ was established, to assist with marketing and projects. The initial goal was $200 to make a short animated advert, but over $17,000 has been donated already. All of this positivity and energy is inspiring.
While businesses are being forced to abandon BTC due to exorbitant and skyrocketing fees (upwards of $10), they’re being cheered on every day as they embrace Bitcoin Cash.
The original vision is still alive. As an early bitcoiner, I’ve never been more optimistic.
Make sure you involve yourself in the community, we’re just getting started :)

OKCoin's response to CZ's lies and desperate nonsense

Introduction
OKCoin would like to state that it wishes the following information did not have to be made public. However, the repeated allegations against the company by Roger Ver and Changpeng Zhao extends beyond a contract dispute. OKCoin must make the following statements to refute the allegations. It is not our intention nor our policy to hurt the careers of former employees nor the reputation of others.
Mr. Roger Ver’s allegations of forgery by Star Xu has already been refuted by Ben D. McGinnes in the conclusions of his report http://okbounty.adversary.org/

Background on Changpeng Zhao’s tenure at OKCoin
To begin, we would like to inform you of Changpeng Zhao’s (CZ) many harmful acts of conduct against OKCoin in the few months he was at the company.

1. On Bitcoin.com, Changpeng Zhao forged an agreement with Roger Ver version 8 (v8)
Changpeng Zhao previously told Roger Ver v8 was forged by Star Xu which has been proven to be false. Changpeng Zhao stated to Coindesk he does not recall a v8 of the Bitcoin.com agreement. OKCoin has publicly released the video taken by the notary public of the QQ chat history on which platform Changpeng Zhao sent v8 to our accountant on December 16th 2014.
Changpeng Zhao also sought to conceal the QQ evidence by deleting the accountant he sent the v8 file to from his contact list on QQ. Changpeng Zhao believed this would prevent access to the chat history by the accountant to prove his sending of v8 on December 16, 2014. The chat history between CZ and our accountant remained accessible by our accountant because the two were in a joint group on QQ. Changpeng Zhao has claimed the screenshot of the QQ conversation is photo-shopped by OKCoin yet as CTO, he was unable to delete the QQ history properly. OKCoin was able to confirm his QQ chat history and released the video of his actions as evidenced by the notary public.
This video will be part of a formal report that we will be releasing this week that will be validated by a notary public.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WWVeEuG44o4&feature=youtu.be
http://www.tudou.com/programs/view/BhPYLcEai_w/

Summary:
0:00 - Connecting to Notary Public's internet
1:00 - Login to Accountant's QQ account
1:26 - Searches for Former Employee's contact and chat history
1:35 - Chat history and all past attachments that were sent are shown on the right hand side It can be seen here that v7 and v8 of the contracts were sent to the Account (v7 sent on 15:17:24 Dec 16,. 2014 and v8 19:29:47 Dec 16, 2015)
1:55 - Contract v8 opened for examination (This is the version that includes the 6 month termination clause)
2:15 - The 6 month termination clause can be seen on the last line of the contract
2:22 - Contract v7 opened for examination
2:54 - Former Employee's passport opened (censored)
3:02 - Former Employee's public QQ account

2. Changpeng Zhao falsified experience, eventually pushed out by OKCoin
When CZ interviewed at OKCoin, CZ claimed to be an internet technology expert and particularly well versed in building trading systems. He vowed to make a significant contribution to the company. As such OKCoin gave a very high salary and a large amount of equity in hiring CZ and asked CZ to also serve as head of the international business. However, upon arriving at the company, it was evident that CZ did not understand the basics of the technology.
a. When a performance problem occurred in our database, as a ‘CTO’ CZ could only stand by and observe other colleagues analyze and fix the problem.
b. When the company sought to build a FIX API, the company let CZ build it as our other engineers at the time were not experts and left this to CZ due to his claimed proficiency. After a month, there was no progress by CZ and our other engineers spent a few days to write and release FIX.
c. When OKCoin’s matching engine experienced bugs, CZ was unable to improve the matching engine, leaving Star Xu and engineers to design a new version of the matching engine. During this time CZ learned from our engineers on the process, then later claimed to others he was responsible for the development of the new matching engine.
d. CZ as CTO did not contribute to OKCoin a line of code nor solved a technical problem.
After repeatedly founding these problems, CZ was asked to either leave the company or transfer divisions to market the international business. CZ informed the company he would return home to Japan from Beijing where our office is located to consider. CZ returned to inform the company he would leave the company. After leaving, CZ stated to the public that he left citing different directions. The international team that CZ built mostly left the company as well. Under the leadership of our new head of international, our foreign business has achieved significant results and paved new strategies for the company.

3. Changpeng Zhao’s departure from Blockchain.info
During the OKCoin interview with CZ, when asked why he only worked at Blockchain.info for a few months, CZ told the company that new Blockchain.info CEO Peter Smith is a very bad man and he left due to differences in direction with him as well and that he stated that Blockchain.info had a lot of problems. Since then, CZ has also left OKCoin due to differences in direction.

4.Changpeng Zhao refuses to take responsibility for forging Roger Ver’s signature and sending v8 to our accountant over QQ even after the release of the hard evidence QQ video. Nor has Changpeng Zhao taken responsibility for signing the hardcopy agreement of v8
Since being pushed out of OKCoin, CZ has repeatedly created new accounts on Reddit to trash OKCoin. This has been a consistent behavior since his departure. The allegations he makes about the company today under his name, we have reason to believe he's been making for several days with other reddit accounts in hopes OKCoin would cave to public pressure.

5. Bitcoin.com Contract
OKCoin has always had suspicions that CZ betrayed the company. Would you write a contract where the other side could cancel the agreement at anytime while you could only stop the contract after 5 years? Would you put yourself in a position where you provide resources to develop the website to only be taken away by Roger at anytime?

6. CZ's deceitful tactics
After CZ left, he wanted to create an exchange that linked to all exchanges. CZ told OKCoin that BTC China has already agreed to this agreement. Similarily, CZ also went to BTC china and said OKCoin had agreed to the agreement. Later CEO Bobby Lee called Star Xu to find out that neither BTC China nor OKCoin had agreed to the agreement in the first place.

OKCoin’s response to the allegations made by Changpeng Zhao

1. Bots
On OKCoin, there are thousands of bots. There are hundreds of API users in the QQ customer group. OKCoin even offers a paid service to help high frequency traders by setting up co-location for our customers. OKCoin in the testing of server clusters do operate a few bots in order to test the matching engine performance and accuracy. CZ as “CTO” does not even know what is a test cluster, and what is a product cluster.

2. Fake volume
OKCoin does not need to have any fake volume. Our customers run a large amount of bot trading acting as market makers. OKCoin in production environment does not run any bots of its own. Perhaps it is CZ during his time as “CTO” running bots of his own?

3. Stefan Thomas’ Audit
CZ serving as “CTO” does not even understand what an audit is. OKCoin.cn has spot margin trading. The margin of BTC and fiat comes via P2P lending. Due to Chinese laws, OKCoin only allows a few big customers to lend BTC and fiat. However, these customers after lending out the coins can still see the assets in its balance as lent out. However the borrower can sell the coins. As such in order to prevent double counting during the audit, the lender has to be removed in order to conduct a proper audit. CZ does not understand at all why the accounts had to be removed and instead says nonsense.

4. Cold wallet
CZ cannot stop lying. OKCoin’s method of cold wallet storage is detailed here: https://www.okcoin.com/about/security.do

5. Employee / CZ trading on OKCoin
OKCoin does not encourage employees to speculate on Bitcoin. It has always been a stated company policy to not trade on OKCoin. However, our product managers need to understand the process of trading, our customer service is also required to learn how to answer customer questions, and our engineers need to test the accuracy of the code. We created a number of public accounts wherein the company deposits a small amount of funds for these purposes. This is normal. Do employees of Coinbase or Bitfinex not use their own app or product? Those with privileged information at OKCoin absolutely do not trade on that information.
In truth, it is CZ that has been in significant violation of our company accord. Post his departure, it was discovered that his personal account at OKCoin had at various points several millions of CNY on the exchange and traded with frequency. We apologize to our customers for the behavior of our “CTO”.

6. CZ’s request to see bank statements
CZ cannot functionally do the job of a CTO, lied about his experience and the company had prior to his request reached a conclusion to ask for his departure from a significant role. Why would the company show its statements to him?

7. CZ offered to take over Bitcoin.com?
During his departure, CZ mentioned handing over bitcoin.com to him. He did not offer to pay for the domain. If OKCoin is paying $10,000 per month, why should CZ as an ex-employee be managing the domain? If he was intending to pay out of pocket $10,000 per month, he needn’t have asked anyone at OKCoin to take over management. He could have simply asked his friend Roger Ver to terminate the contract with OKCoin with 1-month notice and manage the site thereafter. Why does CZ and OKCoin even need to discuss?

8. CZ owed salary
OKCoin is currently withholding CZ’s January 2015 and February 2015 salary due to the following reasons:
a) We are currently still in the process of transferring CZ’s ownership of our international entities. Once CZ has been removed from all documents, we can release the rest of CZ’s salary.
b) CZ until now, has not returned company property including the MacBook he was given.
c) CZ has not explained his forgery of the v8 contract.
We have already assured CZ that after completion of these three items, the withheld payments would be made in full.
In January 2015 and February 2015, CZ essentially no-showed to work. In our company attendance records, he only came to the office a few days. However, since OKCoin pushed CZ out, OKCoin still agreed to pay his wage for January 2015 and February 2015

9. Allegations of impersonating a lawyer
OKCoin's lawyer Li Ya Jun's contact information can be seen on our website.

10. About the OKCoin Team
It is true that most of OKCoin's old international team has left. However, OKCoin has already recruited a new international team. OKCoin's product and engineering team has always remained stable. CZ attempted to recruit a few of OKCoin's team members but was unsuccessful. This incident was subsequently reported to OKCoin's CEO.
OKCoin has over 100 people and continues to grow. We are always interested in talented and capable people and welcome those to apply and join the team.

11. OKCoin Processes withdrawals 24/7
For anyone in doubt, we are happy to process withdrawal orders for customers at anytime.

We are truly regretful for this incident. OKCoin believes that Bitcoin is a significant invention of our time and we are currently using this technology in our new products. We believe that this technology will be a fundamental force in improving our society. Even if all bitcoin exchange activity happened on the OKCoin platform, it would only be a small part of the greater Bitcoin ecosystem. Our ambition is not limited to our exchange business and we will defend ourselves with any new allegations from CZ. Soon the world shall see OKCoin’s complete vision and products.

Illiquid markets, such as Bitcoin are easy prey to manipulation. The principle is to draw attention by buying a pretty big quantity (compared to the daily number being bought and sold) and once this attention is drawn, more and more people will start buying trying to jump on the bandwagon and trying not to miss the train. This is on a larger scale exactly what happened in the summer of 2011 when the price of a BTC went all the way up to 30 USD a piece. Such phenomenons normally end up with a massive selloff, (exactly what happened in the above mentioned example when the price went down to 3 usd, losing about 90% of its value) where a lot of late joiners got burned, lost lots of money and abandoned the game saying it's rigged, when the only thing that was rigged was their intelligence. Rallies and inevitable subsequent bubble bursts aren't good for bitcoin. The movement we experienced in the last 2 days (about 7% up) isn't good for bitcoin. What we should need and hope for is a slow movement up, of about say 1-2% each week, due to a growing number of bitcoin adopters and to the fact that this adopters demand SLIGHTLY outpaces the number of bitcoins being sold by miners and people that accept payments in bitcoin but then need to translate those into fiat money. Everything else should be seen as a danger for bitcoin and not cheered as most people do. Rally is bad, not good! We all need to understand that or we will keep being a bunch of goofy beginners easy prey of speculators

Oh yes? Any evidence you can show us about what you say or was it just a bunch of empty words? We were outed by whom? A resentful advisor that never understood the difference between being an employee and a shareholder and is lying thru his teeth? C'mon, let's move on.... You blame Bitfinex not to be responsible on a crappy mountain of false allegations. Would you define yourself responsible in doing that? It's your right to choose not to be our customer, just stop intentionally lying about us. Or could it be that, as you are running coinlenders.com you just want to throw some shit on your smarter competitors? Your business must be doing really poorly if you have enough time to waste on such childish techniques. Not very professional I must say....
Have a good life

Dear Oda.krell
I understand, having a unicorn as your avatar, you must be used to animals that actually crap jewels ( unicorns actually do that ). We at Bitfinex unfortunately haven't learnt how to do that yet. The only thing we know is how to transfer money every day to our Bitstamp account. We transfer big chunks of money and we do it every day. Due to the recent cost of Bitcoin it only takes 3k of volume to dry one million usd from our Bitstamp account, so normally in about one hour our Bistamp account is dry again. Then we have to wait another day for another wire to hit our Bitstamp account. Not much we can do about it, we still can't crap money, sorry about that. When the market goes up liquidity is low (that is everybody and his sister is fully invested in BTC) and this is the 238th time I explain this.
My advice to use limit orders wasn't polemical, a limit order is actually the only effective way to avoid slippage and the fact that you call me unprofessional because I gave you an advice doesn't change things. Use limit order or accept slippage, there is no other way out.
The Bitfinex dynamic is not easy to understand, I realize that. But to ask for supernatural things (such as to transfer money we don't physically have because our customers still have to wire it to us) it belongs to the world of unicorns, not to our world.
The only thing I understand is that some people on this forum actually think before writing something, while some others just complain and throw false accusations without even realizing how things actually works. For example blaming the fact that we don't have enough BTC on Bitstamp to justify your loss just shows a complete lack of understanding of the trading mechanisms. The quantity of BTC on Bitstamp have NOTHING TO DO with a short liquidation. 8fold is actually one of the few that understands things and is always on spot with his comments (kudos to him).
And by the way, I'm the only one having an italian name around here, only me not a bunch. And the fact that we are in Honk Kong where ANOTHER company closed down doesn't mean anything, does it? Or shall we say that any company located in Hong Kong or with at least an italian sounding named employee is doomed to go bankrupt? C'mon guys, give me a break!
Having said that I think I'll leave this thread to Raphael, which is far more patient than me in taking your shit. I'm probably too old for that, I have to admit.
Have a good day folks, I'm outta here.

Let me try to understand what you think it is a valid proof of evidence.... Writing that some non specified "third party" audited our numbers and found nothing wrong with them is something what will re-assure you about our honesty? Don't you think that a statement like this is actually as good as the person writing it? But if the person that writes it is worth your trust, what sense does it make to ask him to state something like this?
Maybe I'm trying to find a logic in something completely illogical (or I'm just really stupid) but I can't give a rational sense to a request like this.
Finally if you had unanswered emails from support on important topics please PM them to me and I'll take care of it.
Thank you and have a good day

I understand logic can be taken for arrogance by people that are adverse to being logical. My post asked a very simple question: What does a statement like the following add to being more trustworthy?
A third party (non specified) performed a check on our Bitcoins and found we actually have them. No additional details will be given.
My point was that in order to trust a statement like this you must trust the source of the above statement. But if you trust the source ( whose statement doesn't add any proof of evidence into the equation ) then to ask for such a statement doesn't make sense.
Call it arrogance, I call it logic.

You are a kid that doesn't even know what he's talking about. If you don't like Bitfinex why do you keep trading on it, you retarded prick? As we had nothing better to do than stealing candies from retarded kids like you, you don't even have 3 btc (2.5 to be exact) in your pocket.

But in case you are just a douchebag full of hot air I want you to pay 10 btc, so that your ass will burn for while ( unfortunately I have no time to come and beat the shit out of your retarded brains ).
From now on please stay away, you've got plenty of trading platforms to choose from, so don't waste our time anymore with your stupid childish theories.

Transparency doesn't mean to spend time in justifying ourselves against allegations that don't make sense. MatTheTwat is blaming Bitfinex because his stop order wasn't executed at the price he selected. Now even a 5 years old retard knows that a stop loss order is executed at the best price available in that given time. It is not our fault if other ask orders were pulled when the price started to go up. This is normal as several bots are programmed in such a way, i.e. withdraw orders when the price spikes up. To blame this on the platform, accusing people to deliberately steal 30 usd is not only a symptom of douchebagness, but also of the fact that his IQ is smaller than his shoe size. I can trace the guys that had the ask orders placed and pulled them off when the price started to raise. They can come on this thread and witness that nothing is wrong with this particular case. But as I said nobody does nothing for free and I want the Twat to be exposed to his own stupidity. He has a good opportunity to make a lot of coins if he's right ( he's not). But kids like him never make facts follow their words, they are just a whisper in the wind.

Realcoin became Tether. You can find all the infos you need here: www.tether.to It's still in beta now, but it will soon launch. We as Bitfinex will adopt it and I believe a few other trading platforms will do the same ( Huobi, Okcoin etc.). Not sure about Bitstamp, but they probably will at the end if adoption goes well......

Reminder: Chinese bitcoin spot exchanges OKCoin and Huobi are faking a majority of their trading volume

web version: http://www.bitcoinfuturesguide.com/bitcoin-blog/reminder-chinese-bitcoin-spot-exchanges-okcoin-and-huobi-are-faking-a-majority-of-their-trading-volume
http://www.bitcoinfuturesguide.com/uploads/6/4/6/5/64656757/129541_orig.png
To most traders it is common knowledge that Chinese exchanges fake their volume, whether it's OkCoin and Huobi's spot or futures exchanges. Here's an example from Huobi to demonstate the absurdity of the fraud they are committing: Picture
On the 1-day candles you see the volume at over 2.2 Million BTC being traded on Huobi.
And here's the same chart for OKCoin: Picture
Oh no! Only 2 million BTC daily volume on OKCoin. They lose the fake volume competition with Huobi :( Shame to their family.
Raise your hand if you think OKcoin and Huobi are really trading 4.5 Million bitcoin per day, almost 1/3 of the current supply Picture
So we don't even need any more information than this to know that they are committing fraud in their trading volume. Taking 1,000 BTC and trading it between two exchange accounts at 0% fees and reporting it like it's a normal transaction would be a criminal offence in any regulated environment.
If that wasn't enough though, we have its own competitors blowing the whistle on them, in an ignored interview the CEO Bobby Lee did, he clearly calls them out for this practice:
There is a lot of mining that goes on in China. However, I caution you: do not read too much into the high trading volumes. China has decent high volumes but unfortunately two of my competition exchanges - I never like saying this - but they are artificially inflating their volumes through the technique of wash trades.
Okcoin and Huobi are known for inflating trading volumes artificially, basically selling from left hand to the right hand.
They use it for bragging purposes. They try to outdo each other. It's not regulated yet so they don't get slapped on the wrist for doing that. China does have big trading but we are not talking about orders of magnitude higher. If you were to believe the numbers you would think the world is 95% Chinese.
The two largest exchanges in bitcoin, OKcoin and Huobi, are lying about how much trading volume they really do. This should be a scandal, but it's par for the course in bitcoinland. Pressure should always be put on exchanges to be honest and transprent, but people should focus on what the real problems are when our "market leaders" are up to no good like this.
OKCoin's ex CTO "CZ" also blew the whistle on their fraudulent trading volume data:
Fake Volumes I can confirm some of the above bots are designed to pump up volumes. During certain periods, these bots have also been used in a manner to create orders that will only trade against themselves, not with user orders. This mode of operations was strongly resisted by even Chen and Liu (programming, matching engine), but Star Xu insisted on executing it.
Take this as a public service announcement: do not trust OKCoin or Huobi Chinese bitcoin exchange volume, it's mostly fake and is not an indication of anything but how desperate they are to create an appearance of dominance in the market.

OHCC Exchange Partnership and the fractional exchanges that support it. Your exchange may be counterfeiting cryptocurrency!

OHCC Exchange Partnership
OHCC is the behind-the-scenes trading that goes on between the big three chinese exchanges - OKCoin, Huobi, and BTC China. Many of the players in this partnership deal with long/short loan trading and freely join their reserves via a trust agreement. The owners of these exchanges were unsatisfied with the meager income they earn from transaction fees, so they came up with a solution. During this current Chinese National holiday til the 8th of october, all banks are closed, this would be the perfect time to unleash the plan to the market..
They noticed that everytime favorable news came out, huge market moves would happen, so, the exchange owners would create counterfeit fiat on each exchange in order to foster optimism about the future market for the buyers on the exchange. Whenever the markets were to go bad, they would to do the opposite. In order to amplify downwards movement on the exchanges, “war bots” were created that push the markets down in an aggressive manner, causing margin calls and generating profit for their trading partners.
http://i.imgur.com/9Q0xTet.png
Employing traders with large fractional reserves, OHCC uses these fictitious funds in order to garner more real money deposits via leading recharge code sellers. In order to prevent the loss of the counterfeited currency, collusion between exchange owners must be done at the same moment. BTCChina decided that due to losses of funds in the past caused by bad encryption and bugs in the system, they needed to partner together and now think that the best hope to regain funds is to bring the price down to zero, in order to buy as much coin as possible and refill said reserves. Their counterparties in other exchanges agreed that they will aso use the same means, in order to collude and gain profits on their own reserve accounts. It is made to look that everyone is competing on the surface, but in private there is a mutual understanding within the industry that those who remain silent will receive the benefits of silence.
Yesterday's Litecoin crash, combined between all the exchanges had turnovers as high as 20 million coins moved, way more than the sum of all the transactions made within the past week and the day before the transaction currency trading market volume closed at 35 million LTC, while the total LTC in circulation is only 31 million! This means that regardless of how much money you have to buy the dips, many will be put into the bottomless black hole.
Public reserve is intended to ensure that the exchanges cannot fake these funds and ensure that that each is at 100 percent reserve, which is to have a completely open Bitcoin wallet address for both the cold and hot wallet, to ensure that they do not create counterfeited currency.
Not open exchange reserves
Yes, the above story is happening around us. Many players excessive dependence on trading platform, the coins stored in the platform, and trading platform does not fulfill its obligations disclosed reserves. Caused a trading platform for profit making counterfeit money to manipulate the market and malicious trick users into real money.
So, how should users involved in this market protect themselves?
1) Do not store in Bitcoin and other platforms! If you're long-term bullish market, then Bitcoin, and Litecoin should be stored in their wallet. Some platforms will be committed borrowing interest, do not because of the platform for the petty and the coins and other bits on the platform, and finally you get the benefits far outweigh the losses!
You just put the coins and other bits emerged, the trading platform will mention now facing pressure. Such power can be reduced more or less of them false.
OpenBlock
MultiBit
2) Use legal weapons to protect themselves, and urge the public to prepare gold trading platform. If you feel your rights have been infringed, the user should actively protect their legitimate rights and interests with legal weapons. False trading trading platform is an offense, the player must zero tolerance.
3) Vote with their feet, leaving no open exchange reserves, to publicly exchange reserves to deal. Now open reserve all transactions:
chbtc
796 Futures has a open reserve for both hot and cold wallet as well as all member wallets
Peatio
No public exchange reserves should be open as soon as possible to prepare gold proved reserves include the number of hosted prove cold wallet address and user renminbi. You must ensure that the trader is not real money in exchange for false then the exchange of digital databases.

Ending OHCC Exchange

The largest Bitcoin exchange MTGOX previously collapsed with bankruptcy and no funds for partners seem to be recoverable. With their collapse the crazy behavior of the Willy bot still vivid in our memories. So what will be the final outcome of OHCC exchange? Will OHCC Exchange will become the second MTGOX? To be honest, the editors do not know the fate of the players involved, as it is in their own hands.

How to transfer Bitcoin to your Bittrex account from another platform?
Here we will explain how to perform Bittrex trading, transferring bitcoins into your e-wallet and How to Buy Bitcoin on Bittrex. However, it is important to mention that this operation is only possible for crypto-currencies available on the Bittrex platform.
" To begin, you will first need to create your account on the Bittrex website. Therefore, this part assumes that you have 1 at your disposal, and that it is provided in bitcoins on another platform of your choice.
" Thereafter, you will need to connect to Bittrex, then go into your wallet, by clicking in particular on the menu Wallet. Then you will need to click on the "+" icon to the left of the bitcoin. This maneuver allows you to note the address of your electronic wallet. You will need to enter this address in the window that will appear on your screen, under Bittrex. After this transaction, the amount transferred should appear in the "pending" column of your wallet. This simply means that the transfer is not instantaneous. However, you do not have to worry because the site is reliable.
" Before going there, you have to first of all buy Bitcoin/Ethereum. Make sure that you have already bought Bitcoin or ETH from your crypto exchange locality that accepts your currency. In the crypto world, Ether and Bitcoin are the biggest coins that are represented in local currency; Even buying the available 1,300+ altcoins requires the use of either BTC or ETH, and most often you cannot buy altcoins using your own local currency. A popular exchange might be Coinbase. Beginners easily use this, but it has relatively higher fees. On the other hand, you can look for Local Bitcoin- that is a peer-to-peer marketplace. Know more about Altcoin trading Bot.
" Now, with the transfer now complete, you will be able to use your bitcoins to invest in the altcoins available on Bittrex. However, be careful to indicate the address that will be provided by the platform, without making mistakes. In addition, it is not possible for you to transfer a currency other than the one that corresponds to the address you created. For example, you will not be able to make an ETH deposit on your BTC wallet. Ethereum can handle many more transactions than Bitcoin, which significantly speeds up transfer and confirmation times. On average, you usually wait for some minutes for your Ethereum transfer to process, but the Bitcoin transfers usually take hours. Moreover, transfer fees might be much lower with ETH than with BTC.
" Next step, you make a deposit of your base currency. You can presently deposit the BTC or ETH you purchased from your local switch into your new Bittrex account. You will now use the base currency to get the altcoins you want. Wondering how to deposit your coins on Bittrex? Please do follow these steps.
  1. Log in and click on Wallet in the upper right corner of the website.
  2. Find the wallet in which you will be depositing.
  3. Click on the arrow beside the wallet.
  4. Click on "new address" to generate your address.
  5. Be sure to read the deposit instructions if available. Some coins require the sending of a minimum amount before being credited. Some coins will require a memo / message / tag /payment. This means that you must send the coins to the certain address provided and attach this memo / message / tag / payment to the deposit area so that the coins can be routed or directed to your account. If you fail to attach this, you risk losing these funds.
  6. You can send your coins to the web address provided. Be sure to send only the same type of coins to the address. This means that if you have generated a BTC address, you drop BTC there and not another type of coin. If you deposit another type of coin, the address you generated may permanently lose these coins.
You will find more tips on How to Trade on Bittrex.
" The fourth step in performing an exchange on Bittrex is to choose the market in yourbase currency. There are 3 markets in Bittrex:
  1. Bitcoin Market
  2. Ethereum Markets
  3. USDT Markets
These markets are represented by the common base currencies used to purchase a wide variety of available altcoins. If you have deposited the BTC as the base currency, go to the Bitcoin market and choose an altcoin of your choice to buy using Bitcoin. If you instead deposited ETH, choose the altcoins of your choice on the Ethereum market. Note that the same rules might apply with Cryptocurrency Trade Bot.
" The fifth step is, you define Purchase Orders. Enter the details of your purchase orders in the "Buy" box under the trading section. It is not mandatory to buy exactly 1 unit of Cryptocurrency because they are very divisible. You can buy / sell all the amounts you want, depending on your budget. So you can even buy 0.000001 Bitcoin without worrying!
Assume you are selling Aragon and being paid in Bitcoin.
o Units: The amount / quantity of coins you're willing to buy. Here, the amount of Monero to buy is 2.50.
o Bid: The price you want to pay on a Monero unit. In this example, the price you are willing to pay for 1 Monero is 0.42100972.
o Type: This type consists of a called "limit" or "conditional" order. The "Limit" order defines the maximum price (as indicated in "Bid") that you are ready to buy. This ensures that you will not pay more than 0.42100972 ETH for 1 Monero.
o Total: The overall amount of the base currency (the ETH) that you will give up in exchange for the total number of altcoins you wish to purchase. Otherwise, this is the total cost of getting Monero in your reference currency, ETH.
" Last step: store all the coins in a wallet
The safest way to store your coins is to have your personal wallet. Although you automatically have a wallet when you open an Exchange account (wallet hosted by Exchange), you will not have control over the private and public keys. Having control of your keys means having control over your coins. The exchanges work as a bank; you trust a third party service provider for the security of your coins. But, there is a probability that the exchange will close or be pirated, leading in a loss of coins (typical example: Mount Gox exchange). Given the lack of regulatory frameworks on stock exchanges and cryptocurrencies as a whole, as well as the early childhood of the sector, the best way to protect your coins is to have total control over your coins. You can only have total control by having your personal wallet.
Additional information: Under the "Bid" price, there are 3 types of Offers:
o Last: Last price at which the last exchange took place
o Bid: The highest price that a buyer is willing to pay for the coin, which is considered the first order in the "Order Book" section under "Bid".
o Ask: The lowest price a seller will want to sell, the first order in the "Order Book" section, under "Ask".
If you had to create your own orders by entering the "Bid" amount, this will not apply to you.

A Fiat money is a currency that has no intrinsic value unless established by government regulation. So if a government does not maintain the value of a Fiat money, it will have no use value. Recently, Bittrex added TrueUSD in their list of currencies. TrueUSD is a stablecoin supposedly backed by the US Dollar.
So a Bittrex bot, what is it?
A Bittrex bot, which is an artificial intelligence is a tool used to automatically trade on the Bittrex cryptocurrency exchange. The Bittrex cryptocurrency exchange is very fast, reliable, plus, it has never had any security issues- a true prove that machines can do the work better where humans might fail due to normal human limitations. Looking for the best Bitcoin Bot Software. But keep in mind that Bitcoin is generated through mining. Bitcoin mining is simply the processing of transactions in a digital currency system. Here, the records of the current Bitcoin transactions, also known as blocks, are added to the record of past transactions, called a blockchain... In return, you are awarded a certain amount of Bitcoins per block.
In the cryptocurrency market, there is never closure or sleeping. This is an extremely stressful scenario unlike stock markets, especially for traders and also occasional investors in this industry. Users familiar with investing in cryptography will also be familiar with the feeling of joy or sadness; you can get up one morning and you are greeted with either a pleasant or unpleasant surprise, mostly when you check your wallet and see significant gains or losses.
This is a niche market and due to its volatility, trading bots have become increasingly popular among traders by allowing them to stay in control of their trading at any time- the bot does not sleep even when the trader does. In addition, a properly specified bot allows transactions to be executed faster and more efficiently than the trader could do manually.
That's as simple as it can be. We all know that the world of financial technologies, especially digital develop and so many things can just change in short notice. Last August, OKCoin conducted the digital Proof-of-Reserves (POR) as detailed here. https://www.okcoin.cn/about/reservesTestify.do There are limitations to this and OKCoin used that to lie. Specifically, OKCoin removed no less than 17 bot accounts operated by itself from the audit. As there accounts are controlled by OKCoin, users will never verify these accounts. This was only known, after the fact, to a few guys at OKCoin.
OKCoin lied about the POR results to Stefan Thomas, who co-incidentally works for Ripple, an organization that OKCoin seems to want to get away from (reading from the Roger Ver situation).
OKCoin lied about the POR results to everyone!
2 Bots are rampant on OKCoin
OKCoin controls several bots on all the markets it operations. But not all bots are equal.
Account 11, on OKCoin.com, is the main futures market maker. This is controlled semi-manually by a senior operator at OKCoin, who actually sits in the open. You can often hear him yell across the office to the DB administrator, "account 11 is out of money, can you bump up the balance (ie, a direct change in the database for the account value)". The names of these employees are widely known inside OKCoin, and are easy to verify. We don’t want to name them here as they are operating under the CEO, Star Xu’s instructions.
Bots control/contribute more than 70% of the volume on OKCoin Futures. Guess what happens when one of these bots lose money? it's a decision by the OKCoin CEO between clawback/socialized loss, or taking principle loss. Or how much between 2 to allocate.
3 Breach of NDA and client confidentiality
In a recent incident, an OKCoin operator openly CC’s all their institutional clients in an email. Of which, sadly, there is only about 10 of them. And now they all know who each other are.
Notably, there is Circle, on the list. Not sure how much trading Circle is doing at OKCoin, but if they do, they probably are in violation of certain compliance procedures in the USA.
4 Compliance? Zero
Let’s state it very clearly, OKCoin has 0 compliance. The previous Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) had 0 access to trading data. Following a day where there were rampant accusations about fake volume from the community, the CCO forcefully requested to the CEO to have access to the trading data. The CEO, Star Xu, agreed, then delayed, then delayed again. Six month later, up until the time (and even after) the COO handed in his resignation, he never had access to any trading data.
I believe these are some of the reasons all the international team has left OKCoin, leaving behind Jack, who is universally recognized as a bit of an a...
Check out this post from the previous product manager:
https://www.reddit.com/Bitcoin/comments/36wp28/okcoin_no_longer_managing_bitcoincom_due_to/cri1q59
I can't see any reason OKCoin will go this far unless it is completely insolvent.

Why OKCoin isn't faking volumes, and why volume is silly measurement on zero fee markets.

Hello Everyone,
This is a post to answer many people's question, I don't think Zane Tackett really explained the root of the confusion with volume in his post.
I saw a lot of posts complaining about Chinese exchanges faking volume, I'd like to contribute to this discussion by showing (from a neutral perspective) why OKCoin and Huobi do not fake their volume, and why the complaints about this topic are just plain useless, I am going to include a python bot which you can try out yourself to test my hypothesis.
The Controversy
Many people have accused Chinese exchanges of faking volume, mainly stating spread changes and quick order movements as their main backing reason, this has caused a lot of discussion. Essentially the main argument is that exchanges fake volume to make their credibility rise, pulling in more people so they can make money of CNY withdrawals. This has even led their manager of international operations to state why these claims are false.
Why are 0% fees feasible?
Because that's Just how China does it. There is a more competitive market on Chinese exchanges as most Chinese are in for immeadiete profit algo based trading. Americans & Europeans mainly buy Bitcoin as a long term investment expecting its value to rise over time, which means the 0.2% fee and the lack of a proper API are not really an issue for them. Chinese exchanges still make CNY off of their CNY withdrawal fees.
OK, you mentioned this high frequency trading stuff, why does it matter?
As someone who is using a VPS in Beijing at the same place OKcoin's datacenter is based, I am still getting one upped on orders, these guys do exist. Someone trading once a minute with 1 BTC volume everytime will have a total volume of over 1400BTC!
OK, prove it!
It is important to note that increased leverage oportunities exist for high volume traders in the form of OKCoin reward points.
It only takes a few lines of code to make a bot that trades within the spread and makes no direct loss which fakes volume. I know this code is is not good, how bad I am at python just outlines how easy this is!
This was done using this python wrapper https://github.com/trexmatt/OKCoin-API, I excluded imports and private key imports, pm me if you need help!
Moved code to the edit!
You should probably also create a balance fetcher and place buy and sells at the min volume from a list to avoid invalid balances, not including that here for the sake of keeping it short! PM me if you need help (optimally sleep 5 seconds, refetch, and then place altering orders after sleeping).
Then what should I used instead of volume?
Easy, spread and market depth. Not misleading, and the most relevant to trading!
Edit: Turns out reddit is shitty for posting code, so I placed a simplified version here, PM me if you want a functional volume faker, and I will post a link to github here. (unless OKCoin is against that).
Edit:
Here is a bot that should give you a few million USD trading volume per day even if you just have 1BTC!, you may want to do some partial handling yourself, you can adjust the order depth you take by adjusting key values!
M = okcoin.MarketData() okcoin_sell_list = dict.items(M.get_depth('btc_cny').asks) lowest_sell = min(okcoin_sell_list) okcoin_lowest_sell_price_btc = lowest_sell[0] okcoin_lowest_sell_volume_btc = lowest_sell[1] okcoin_buy_list = dict.items(M.get_depth('btc_cny').bids) highest_buy = max(okcoin_buy_list) okcoin_highest_buy_price_btc = highest_buy[0] okcoin_highest_buy_volume_btc = highest_buy[1] """Get balances!""" bbb = okconf.get_info() okcoin_cny_balance = float(bbb['info']['funds']['free']['cny']) okcoin_btc_balance = float(bbb['info']['funds']['free']['btc']) """calculate min volume!""" min_volume1 = min(okcoin_highest_buy_volume_btc,okcoin_btc_balance) min_volume2 = min(okcoin_cny_balance/okcoin_lowest_sell_price,okcoin_lowest_sell_volume) """Now just trade one by one!""" if 0.01 < min_volume_1: okconf.trade('btc_cny', 'sell', okcoin_highest_buy_price_btc, min_volume_1) if 0.01 < min_volume_2: okconf.trade('btc_cny', 'buy', okcoin_lowest_sell_price_btc, min_volume2) time.sleep(5)

Bots for Chinese exchanges

Hi Traders,
I'm developing a JAVA bot for trading Bitcoin. My bot uses WebSocket data from OKCoin, Huobi and BTCChina.
The problem, however, is that very often there is a mismatch between the data I receive for my bot's orderbooks and the orderbooks showed on the exchange's site in Browser.
The problems are in connectivity, as often the connection drops or comes at a significant delay, both in the Browser and bot. I believe that the reason for that is China's Great Firewall.
My question is how to get real-time Bitcoin market data from Chinese exchanges for high speed trading /I want to avoid using REST, as it is NOT suitable for high speed/?
Should I use a Chinese cloud or smth? How do you do it?
PS: The bot works perfectly with all exchanges outside of China like BitFinex, BitStamp, CEX.IO etc

WCHangout 17 -- Tradewave -- User Generated Automated Bitcoin Trading Strategies (Thurs 7-8PMCDT UTC−5)

On Thursday June 25 from 7-8PM Central time we will be doing a Google Hangout with Sai from www.tradewave.net on the products and services that they offer to bitcoin traders
Event Page: https://plus.google.com/events/cl7857cgku8jjl4ck52govea92s
Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RCl50MdFQpQ
Background
• Tell us a bit about Tradingwave • How did you come up with this idea? • How many active users? a month? • Any investors? VCs? etc?
Effectiveness
• We’ve experimented different combinations of popular strategies on your helpful backtesting page: • I noticed that out of all the simple indicator-based trade execution strategies, only the limited 12hr MACD and ranging VWAP appear to be consistently profitable • If you had to trade using a single indicator strategy, what would it be?
• What proportion of traders using tradewave are consistently profitable?
• Does Okcoin integration include futures? Does bfx and btc-e integration include alts?
• What is your relationship with coinsetter? Its noticeable that they are they only parter that you offer a rebate for using
• Are there issues in which new traders (who monitor bots infrequently) should be made aware of? i.e. persistent latency, api key expiry, bots restarting etc.
Business Discussion
• Pricing: http://www.awesomescreenshot.com/image/353678/4e9dcf63c7e351a593f3f82bdae351be
• What is your vision for Tradewave? Where do you see it in the next 5 years?
• We noticed there was a community development section for bot trading, where people could submit their own algos. This is a fascinating idea. Are there any plans to work this into the business model? For example, subscribing to “pro” trading strategies and implement profit sharing with the algo designer?
• What other companies in the space do you regard to be direct competitors?
• Any plans for affiliate/referral programs?
• Do you have plans to add exciting other exciting new features and products?
ps. under the pricing plans for the ultimate “GEKKO” package, you get a “direct line to the lead engineer”. This is his cell number and he’s always available on call? That’s dedication!
What have you learned from from indicators and algo trading with all the backtesting available ?
How do you feel trading has changed since 2013? Have different strategies changed significantly in their effectiveness? Are there distinct phases?
How does bot trading vary in BTC trading versus legacy ?

How Chinese are making money on your behalf

If I were a Chinese with enough coins and access to bitfinex and stamp, what would I do?
I would quickly write a bot to trade on huobi and OkCoin and create two accounts that would buy/sell each other coins back and forth to create a huge volume. On average I will be on 0 there, but I will be able to drive the market back and forth. This is a day programming job.
Then I will place my bets strategically on Bitstamp for all the western losers to put the dough directly in my pockets.
If you think this is nonsense, look at this newsless pump and dump that just happened with huobi: http://i.imgur.com/QUdyjHe.png If you think that 0-fee exchange is sustainable you are a half-brain. There is no exchange in the whole world that wouldn not take fees.
I appeal to bitcoinwisdom and bitcoinity to drop chinese exchanges from their sites.
To elaborate this further into a conspiracy theory.
If I were a Chinese government and I see a great threat in bitcoin (which it is). What would I do? I cannot ban bitcoin in the whole world. But I can discourage its use instead. How? By taking folks' money around the globe. I will create a couple of 0-fee exchanges with fake volume and start banning-unbaning bitcoin for greater volatility. At the same time collecting peoples' money on other exchanges till no more retards out there are willing to invest in bitcoin.
Think. How quickly Huobi and OkCoin became the "main" exchanges? And why this back and forth infinite covert FUD from government officials? Freaking perfect destruction plan.
